WG3: Workflow Interoperability (suggested)
This idea has been suggested, but not yet organized. Interested parties are encouraged to take it on!
Materials researchers are often encouraged or required to make data available and FAIR. To be truly reusable, however, data need to dovetail with actual, practical workflows whether those in formal workflow tools or in less structured practice. It is crucial, therefore, to understand materials workflows and clarify the metadata requirements needed to support them. This working group will produce recommendations of workflow-aware metadata, an associated minimum viable standard for metadata that supports functional data reuse, and an implementation of that standard consistent with the most common DOI schemas. The WG needs collaboration between formal materials-workflow-tool developers, repository owners, and anyone interested in workflows requiring shared data reuse.
