2024 MGI PI Meeting July 30-31
A total of 345 participants attended the 2024 MGI PI Meeting held this past July. Hosted by Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI), the event featured distinguished speakers from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Air Force Research Laboratory, and several prestigious universities. Attendees gathered to explore key aspects of the Materials Genome Initiative, with discussions focused on critical topics such as Protecting and Improving Human Health, Delivering Sustainable and Resilient Energy, Thriving in Extreme Environments, Enhancing Structural Performance, Protecting the Environment, Propelling the Information and Communication Technologies Revolution, and Advancing Critical and Emerging Technologies (CETs).
The event also showcased over 100 poster presentations, highlighting new challenges and innovative solutions. It served as a platform for collaborative efforts that leverage the rapid growth in data, AI/ML-driven insights, and community-wide infrastructure development.
